Makhluk Sungai dengan Bentuk Aneh dan Mengerikan

Di sungai tidak hanya terdapat ikan saja,  berbagai jenis makhluk dengan bentuk cukup aneh dan mengerikan, yang mungkin belum pernah kita bayangkan sebelumnya.

African Lungfish

African Lungfish, merupakan makhluk sungai yang cukup aneh bentuknya. Bagi orang yang belum pernah melihatnya, pasti akan mengira makhluk ini sebagai monster karena bentuknya yang menyeramkan.

Namun, meskipun bentuknya mengerikan, hewan ini sama sekali tidak berbahaya. Ikan ini beradaptasi dengan lingkungannya yang kurang oksigen, sehingga membuat ikan ini jarang terlihat oleh manusia.

Goliath Tigerfish

Goliath Tigerfish, dari namanya sudah dapat diperkirakan bahwa makhluk ini bukan makhluk sembarangan. Dengan panjang mencapai 1,5 meter lebih dan gigi yang tajam, tentu banyak orang yang takut dengan tampang seram ikan ini.

Goliath Tigerfish merupakan varian terbesar dalam keluarga Tigerfish, dan merupakan predator yang hebat. Ikan ini terkenal akan kekuatan dan kecepatannya.

Makhluk sungai Alligator Gar ini tampak seperti perpaduan antara alligator dengan ikan. Hewan yang hidup di Amerika Utara ini jarang berburu mangsa, namun menunggu mangsa yang lewat di depan mulutnya, kemudian ia menerkamnya dengan kecepatan yang luar biasa.

Pirarucu

Pirarucu mirip sekali dengan ikan arwana yang terkenal di Indonesia, ikan ini pun memiliki kesamaan dengan ikan arwana, yaitu sama-sama suka melompat ke udara untuk berburu maupun menghirup udara.

Ikan ini  sejatinya tidak berbahaya, namun jika merasa terancam, ia akan  menggunakan kepalanya untuk senjata pertahanan diri.

Piraiba Catfish merupakan ikan yang panjangnya bisa mencapai 3 meter dengan berat 272 kg. Piraiba Catfish ini selalu membuat takut sebagian besar pemancing. Ikan ini terkenal akan kekuatannya, bahkan ikan ini dikatakan mampu membuat seorang manusia tenggelam karena kekuatannya.

Banyak rumor yang beredar jika penyebab pemancing-pemancing yang hilang ketika memancing di sungai adalah karena diseret oleh ikan ini kedalam sungai hingga tenggelam.

Ternyata sungai pun tidak kalah dengan lautan, banyak makhluk-makhluk unik hidup disini. Walaupun bentuk fisik mereka terbilang unik dan aneh, namun tidak bisa dipungkiri lagi jika bumi masih menyimpan banyak potensi yang belum ditemukan olah manusia.

Barnes And Noble Android Nook Color gets app SDK

Barnes & Noble has finally released the software development kit for the Android-powered Nook Affect and this may possibly lead to multiple apps on the affect e-reading tablet.

While the Nook Affect is powered by Android, it won't be able to access the more than 100,000 apps in the Android Market. Barnes & Noble did say that it would be relatively simple to port existing programs over, although it will vet these apps for various criteria.

First of all, you can expect Barnes & Noble to axe the apps with unwarranted violence or nudity but it will also stop competitors from getting on its platform. Don't look for the Amazon Kindle app to show up on the Nook Affect anytime soon even though porting the Android app should be relatively simple.

With a 7-inch affect touchscreen and decent hardware under the hood, the Nook Affect may possibly be a decent mobile gaming device. While I'm not expecting the next Rage HD to pop up on it, I may possibly easily see a crossword game or Words With Friends being a bit hit with the e-booklover crowd.

Will this be enough to make the Barnes & Noble tablet a huge success? It's tough to tell. While the e-booklover has a nice price tag at $ 250, it may never garner the amount of apps that the Apple iPad has right now.

Additionally, we're in line to see a glut of Android apps from the likes of Motorola and others that will be able to access many of the programs from the market. We may also start to see a price war for Android tablets and that makes the Nook Affect price tag not as appealing.

Still, this is a positive sign for Barnes & Noble Nook Affect users, as it will give them more things to do with that tablet.

DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) sedang mengembangkan sebuah kendaraan militer yang bisa dibilang kendaraan 3 in 1 karena kendaraan ini adalah sebuah mobil, helikopter dan pesawat sekaligus.

DARPA Transformer (TX) adalah mobil 4 penumpang ini dilengkapai dengan berbagai persenjataan dan bisa berjalan sejauh 280 mil (450 km) baik di darat maupun udara. Yang paling utama adalah kemampuannya untuk lepas landas secara vertikal seperti sebuah helikopter sehingga area yang sempit bukan menjadi alasan bagi kendaraan ini untuk mendarat atau tinggal landa.

Transformer yang dilengkapi dengan teknologi cangggih ini juga bisa membuat siapapun bisa mengendarainya dan anda bisa memacu kecepatan sampai 104 km/ jam pada saat berjalan di darat atau 241 km/ jam pada saat di udara.
Prototype mobil ini sedang dibuat dan diharapkan tahun 2015 nanti bisa terwujud apabila tentara Amerika dan Inggris masih berada di Afganistan.
